Powerful centre cockpit cutter-rigged ketch with a reputation for safe long distance cruising. Heavy weather windward performance outstanding under staysail and mizzen.

 

Eight berths in 3 cabins, Beta Marine 4-cylinder diesel - new in 2008.

Lying afloat at Holyhead, due Liverpool Marina by end of May 2017.

Sails: Mainsail, with single line reefing on first and second reef cringles, stowed in blue sail bag with lazy jacks; self-tacking staysail; mizzen with sailbag and lazy jacks; spinnaker; cruising 'chute; storm jib; genoa with roller reefing.

Rig: Proctor aluminium mast, spinnaker pole and boom with stainless steel rigging, pulpit, guard rails and lifelines.


 

Engine: Beta 43, four-cylinder naturally aspirated diesel, 1,999 cc, 43 hp [32 kW] at 2800 rpm. Kubota-based and fitted new in 2008. 1500 engine hours serviced in 2017, drives a feathering propeller through modified shaft with Volvo stern glands fitted in 2012 and returns fuel consumption of 2.5 litres per hour. Maximum speed 9 knots, crusing speed 5.5 knots. Closed circuit water-cooled system. Three 12V domestic batteries, total 310 Ah. One engine starting battery 105 Ah. One 12v battery for bow thruster. Two 120 litre fuel tanks.

Engine Instruments: Ammeter warning light, water temperature warning light, oil pressure warning light, rev counter.

Hull: GRP white topsides with pale blue Treadmaster decks. Well known for good seakeeping. Hull was antifouled in 2016. Vetus electric bow thruster.

Deck gear: Stainless steel pulpit, pushpit, guard rails. Sprayhood, dodgers and winter cover, boarding ladder, boarding plank, wheel steering, six sheet winches around cockpit, two being self-tailing genoa sheet winches. Halyard winch on main mast. Delta main anchor with 50m 8mm chain and 25m rode. Second bower anchor is Bruce with 8m of 12mm chain and 50m rode. Kedge anchor is Brittany type with 8m chain and 50m rode. Lofrans electric windlass and bow thruster. Spinnaker pole, mooring warps and six fenders, one ball fender, one step fender. Removable davit for lowering motor into dinghy. Navigation, steaming and anchor lights. Emergency set of navigation lights. Inflatable dinghy with Tohatsu 5hp two-stroke outboard motor.

Navigation equipment: Cockpit compass, two speed logs on two chart plotters, Raytheon wind speed and direction indicator, VHF radio with ship's Ofcom licence and masthead aerial, hand-held VHF radio, gps satellite navigation from navigation station, radar reflector.

Safety gear: Six-man Plastimo liferaft, lifelines on side decks, two dan buoys, six lifejackets, four fitted with safety harness and two extra harnesses with six lifelines. One electric and two manual bilge pumps, rope-cutter on propeller, set of flares in date, five dry powder fire extinguishers, one CO2 extinguisher and fire blanket. Gas detector and smoke detector. Sling for man overboard.

Accommodation: Saloon well-fitted out and upholstered. Eight berths including double berth in aft cabin reached from saloon by companion way from chart table. Separate heads with two sea lavatories one shower compartment and 40 litre holding tank, pressurised water supply from 75-litre fixed water tank and 100-litre Plastimo flexible tank. Hotwater supply from engine heat exchanger. Diesel-fired warm air heating system. 240V ring main electricity circuit with shore power connectons and generator. Plastimo stainless steel gas cooker with two burners, oven and grill. Freezer and refrigerator. Crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. Curtains and gold/brown upholstery with cockpit cushions.

The owner of KISHORN is retiring from sailing after a successful voyage from Turkey in 2016. She is offered afloat at Holyhead until May 2017, after which month she will be sailed up to Liverpool Marina.
